Wine tour & tasting

No stay in the Langhe is complete without a Barolo wine tour and tasting. Discover how Nebbiolo becomes Barolo and Barbaresco, explore the character of local Barbera wines and taste the elegant sparkling wines of Alta Langa.

Truffle hunting

The Langhe are known for the White Truffle of Alba, an exquisite delicacy raised to perfection by the excellent gastronomy of the Langhe. Truffles are not cultivated but sought in the wild. Would you like to be part of a truffle hunt? We can arrange an unforgettable moment to spend in the woods searching for this special "white gold," accompanied by the hunter and his inseparable dog

Cooking class

Villa Monforte Barolo is located in the birthplace of the Slow Food movement, where cooking is about seasonality, craftsmanship and the pleasure of sharing a meal. A private cooking class is one of the most enjoyable ways to discover the authentic cuisine of Piedmont.

Cheese tour & tasting

The affineur is an artisan who gives support to small-scale farmers scattered across the mountains and hills of Piedmont. He researches, refines and markets their best cheeses produced for generations, ensuring the sustainability of the microeconomic system. In the charming village of Bra, home of the Slow Food Movement and the Cheese International Festival, we can arrange a tour with a master affineur, followed by a guided tasting of cheeses from dairies with limited production capacity, never on the market on a large scale.

Wine walks

We want to paint you a picture of a vineyard walk in Barolo: ahead of you is a medieval town. It’s nestled deep within wooded hills and crowned with a fairy tale castle. You’re walking along a path through beautiful steep-sided valleys braided entirely with lush green grapevines. It’s sunny but the air is fresh. As you walk you catch glimpses of the Alps far far ahead, their snowy caps just about visible on the horizon. This is the stunning Barolo valley – ask us to organize a guided walk with stops and tasting in wine cellars along the way.

Bike & Barolo

Let us plan your bike training camp in the Barolo wine region. There are over 200 km of trails with sublime views over vineyard-covered rolling hills and medieval castles. The ride is along vineyards, uneven paths, mule tracks, small gravel roads (strade bianche) and some big road. We can have just about any type of bike delivered to the villa including mountain bikes, city hybrid, touring or racing: feel free to ask!

Vespa Ride

It is so much fun to ride around the vineyards and visit the villages of the Barolo wine region on a Vespa! You can explore the endless line of vineyard-covered rolling hills at your leisure, reaching authentic villages, viewpoints, wineries. All this by renting a 125 cc Vespa with automatic transmission, comfortable seat for two, sanitized helmets. We can have it delivered to the Villa with advance notice, write to us for customized quotes. Don't miss this unique experience with the icon of Italian design that marked the history of the 20th century.
